Annual Wage Review Announcement

Each financial year an expert panel of the Fair Work Commission reviews and sets the minimum wages for employees for the following financial.

The panel sets:

1.     That National Minimum adult wage, which covers employees who are Award and Enterprise agreement free, and

2.     The minimum adult rate for all modern awards.

Today the Fair Work Commission represented by President Hatcher announced the National Minimum adult wage and the Minimum adult modern award rate will both increase by 3.75% effective from the start of the employees first full pay period on or after 1 July 2024.

The MTA NSW ER team will be calculating the amended rates and placing them into the 2024/2025 Wage Guide which will be available on the MTA website and ERIS for members to download on 28th June 2024.

We also remind members that from 1st July 2024 the employer superannuation guarantee will increase from 11% to 11.5%.

Some allowances are calculated by the Australian Taxation Office and will be made available as soon as the calculations are complete.
