Updates to Motor Vehicle Service & Repair Information Sharing Scheme

Our industry has just received a major update to the Motor Vehicle Service & Repair Information Sharing Scheme. This means aftermarket workshops, collision shops, dismantlers, modifiers and RTO trainers can now access more of the information that was once exclusive to dealership service departments. Whatever service, repair, wiring diagram, Technical Service Bulletins (TSB), diagnostic hardware, or software a dealer accesses, independent workshops now can too.

Examples of what can now be accessed

- Wiring diagrams
- Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)
-
Software updates
-
Diagnostic tools

What this could mean for repair and service businesses

- Faster repairs: Time saved by accessing the correct information the first time.
- Improved accuracy: Fixing issues more effectively with genuine manufacturer data.
-
Increased customer satisfaction: Customers are back on the road faster with high-quality, accurate repairs.
-
Potential for higher profits: Faster repairs translate to increased efficiency and potentially higher revenue.

Costs

Costs vary depending on the manufacturer and the type of information. However, most options are affordable, with hourly access often costing under $20 and daily access under $50.

Visit the Australian Automotive Service & Repair Authority (AASRA) website to learn more about the program and access pricing information for specific manufacturers.
