In Memoriam - Ray Beekman, Automotive Industry Pioneer

MTA NSW would like to express our condolences on the passing of Ray Beekman, a long-term Member, Life Member, former MTA President, Governing Councillor and previous Executive Board Member.

Ray dedicated over 70 years of his life to the automotive industry, starting as a motor mechanic at the age of 15 and eventually owning his own workshop and service station. His dedicated service and advocacy for the automotive industry will be remembered.
Ray had been an MTA member for over 50 years, starting with his first business, Beekman Automotive. In 2004, Ray was successfully elected as President of MTA NSW. During his tenure, he dedicated countless days visiting members across country NSW, demonstrating that MTA NSW was committed to serving the State.

In recognition of his contributions, Ray was welcomed as an MTA NSW Life Member on the 1st of December 2018. He frequently served as a Governing Councillor and at times elected as an Executive Board Member. His passion and knowledge in the automotive industry provided to the Association was welcomed.

We remember Ray for his unwavering commitment to the motor industry and pass on our deepest condolences to his wife Judy and all his family and friends.
