MTA NSW Partners with Training Services NSW for Cobham Youth Justice Centre Initiative

We are proud to announce a successful collaboration with Training Services NSW (TSNSW) that provided valuable training opportunities for young people in custody at the Cobham Youth Justice Centre. Receiving television news coverage from Channel 7, this partnership saw a brand new MX-5 engine donated to the Pultand ETU Trade School housed within the Centre's new Trade Centre.

This engine will be used for hands-on training, equipping young people with practical skills that can lead to future employment. A number of our MTA Trainers were also involved with a paint and panel workshop, providing invaluable knowledge and mentorship throughout the session. This collaboration and workshop also resulted in a job offer outside of the detention centre for a talented individual, having demonstrated outstanding ability.

This collaboration is a shining example of how industry partnerships, training programs, and instilling self-belief can have a transformative impact on the lives of young people. Not only are we supporting youth who are in need of better future prospects, but this is also part of our wider mission to alleviate the current skills shortage. It was with great pleasure to have been a part of such a meaningful project, and we look forward to continuing our community support.
