Our Experience at the Western Sydney Careers Expo 2024
Last week, our team attended the Western Sydney Careers Expo to showcase the diverse career opportunities available within the automotive industry.
To attract a large audience and create a lively atmosphere, we set up a display featuring a sponsored go-kart alongside a racing simulator with leaderboard, which was a big hit. Our friendly and passionate team used this opportunity to engage with attendees, handing out goodie bags containing informative material about automotive careers.
Over the three-day event, we engaged with both students and job seekers, breaking the stereotype that automotive careers are solely dirty and labour-intensive. We showcased the business side of the industry, the innovative research and development sector, and specialised roles such as working with race teams.
We also emphasised that apprenticeships in automotive don’t have to be confined to traditional classroom settings. Understanding that everyone learns differently, we provide practical, one-on-one sessions tailored to individual needs, emphasising the mindset of our MTA Training model.
Additionally, we promoted our dedicated jobs board for automotive careers. Generic job boards often clutter search results with unrelated listings and lack filters for the diverse pathways within the automotive sector. Our jobs board streamlines this process, making it easier to find the right job quickly. If you have a job opening, you can upload it for FREE here (https://careers.mtansw.com.au/).
It's been an amazing experience for us to see the amount of interest and diversity at the expo. We're committed to building the future of the automotive industry, especially amid a skills shortage, and will continue to seek new opportunities to do so.
