Reforming the Tow Truck Industry in NSW
We have now commenced discussions with the NSW Government on much-needed reforms in the tow truck industry.
Our Head of Government Relations, Collin Jennings and Advisory Councillor for the tow truck division, Rodney Heseltine, met with representatives from the Minister for Fair Trading’s office and from the Department of Fair Trading to discuss the industry’s recommendations for amendments to the Tow Truck Industry Regulations.
The Tow Truck Industry Act and Tow Truck Industry Regulations are both due for review in 2025. However, MTA NSW and the tow truck industry have emphasised to the NSW Government the need to enter into proactive discussions early so that any amendments to the Act and the Regulations can be enacted as quickly as possible.
MTA NSW will provide the Department and the Government with written submissions over the coming months outlining the industry’s needs.
