More restrictions to ease from 8 November 2021. New NSW Roadmaps published. New obligations to notify and self-isolate.

MTA NSW brings into the spotlight for Members the recent passing of NSW Government law for EV. As Members may be aware, the NSW EV Strategy is a plan to accelerate the State’s vehicle fleet for the future and ensure at least 50% of new vehicles sales are EV by 2030. In this communication we look to outline the NSW Government commitments to increasing the uptake of EV to ensure NSW shares in the future benefits.

In recent discussions with MTA NSW Members within the ACT and the Australian Automotive Dealer Association (AADA), concerns had been raised in relation to the restriction surrounding the Click and Collect operating requirements for Motor Vehicle Dealers under the Public Health (Lockdown Restrictions) Emergency Direction 2021 (No 9) (“PHD”).

Stay-at-home restriction to be lifted for the Byron and Tweed Local Government Areas (“LGAs”). This article also includes updates to the proposed NSW Roadmap to ease restrictions and Members should plan their business operations ahead of the announced dates in the NSW Roadmap.

Lockdown has been lifted for the Albury, Lismore and Gilgandra and Brewarrina Local Government Areas (“LGAs”). With lockdown to be lifted on Friday for Orange and Glen Innes LGAs on this Friday. and Saturday for the Narromine LGA. Whilst lockdown is extended for another 7 days for the Hilltops LGA.
